I know what you are thinking: another thing I should be doing that I don’t have the time for. The good news is, creating an effective content strategy is easier than you think!
We have put together this easy step by step guide on how to create a content strategy:
Step #1 Define your monthly marketing goals
Each month come up with a marketing goal and work towards that one goal. For example, for the month of October, your main goal could be to book Christmas Family Sessions.
Step #2 Write a compelling Blog Post
At the beginning of the month, write and publish a blog post outlining the process of Christmas family sessions. Give an example with photos, talk about the experience you offer, locations or your studio.

Step #3 Promote your Blog Post on Social Media
Create several social media posts and stories using the content of your blog post.
Don’t forget to add a call to action. For example: Book your Christmas Family Session now! Spots are limited! Link to your website.
- talk about Christmas gift ideas and promote your portrait session as a gift
- promote your finished products like photo wall art, albums, or boxes as Christmas gifts ideas
- host a charity auction or give-away for a good cause
Step #4 Promote your offer and blog post with a Newsletter
Send out a monthly newsletter that talks about your latest promo, some exciting news, or your latest photo sessions – link to your blog post and your service or investment page. Don’t forget to add a call to action!
Step #5 Run an Ad Campaign on Facebook and/or Instagram
Ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram are a great way to promote your services and special promotions – targeting your ideal client.
This step is of course optional but can make a significant impact and generate more leads in a short period of time.
Step #6 Nurture your Leads
In case you are not familiar with the term, Leads are potential clients that inquire about your services.
A new lead is like a seed. It is up to you to nurture it so it can grow into a paying client. This means it’s important to react fast and answer all their questions. Follow up with them and form a relationship with the client.
You can have the best-written blog post and spend thousands on ads, but if you don’t know how to cultivate a positive client relationship and how to sell your service you won’t see the results you are aiming for.
